It doesn't matter much to me, though the intent was more of a melding
than an eclipsing. The logo without the text hasn't seen much use, so
I'm not sure a new variant would either. There's no reason both versions
shouldn't be available, though.
The green/orange thing was intentionally Duck/Beaver
I've seen that heart in Oregon logo all over the state, but it seems that
I'm in the minority here with my interest in changing the logo. Which is
fine. I could certainly try to get permission from Canonical, but if no one
likes the logo any better than the old one, c'est la vie.

Just to be clear if its using different colors especially green then it
doesn't use the branding guidelines and would not be appropriate.
The current logo I think worked for most of our loco members is there any
reason it no longer works?
