Leaving the machine idle long enough for the gnome power-off timeout to

Same problem in Xubuntu Jaunty (9.04) installed in VMWare Player 2.5.2
build-156735. First, the problem is described, second, the solution
based on this page.
1. PROBLEM
It seems that screen resolution and other "hardware" configurations,
such as Caps Lock "On" are not saved when closing session.
Looks like you forgot to apply the patch! ;-) You need to have patch
104_geforce_6600gt_9100mg.patch applied at least.
A better way to backport packages is to download the code and use
'debuild -uc -us -i' to build debs. (You can use 'apt-get build-dep
xserver-xorg-video-nv' to install the buil
Jaroslav, with the release of Jaunty behind us and the Karmic LiveCD
images working sufficiently well that it can be used for testing, this
is a good time to see if we can get something done with this bug.
Would you mind testing Karmic (either LiveCD/LiveUSB or installed) and doing
the following:
Nobuto, if I understand your last message correctly, this problem was
fixed somewhere between 2:2.6.3-0ubuntu4 and 2:2.6.3-0ubuntu9. I'm

I also have the /usr/lib/nvidia/libGL.so.1.xlibmesa broken symlink, I
dont believe that is the issue.
What does /usr/lib/xorg/modules/extensions look like? Does it have
libglx.so.???
My system has 2 symlinks.
1. /usr/lib/xorg/modules/extensions/libglx.so -> libglx.so.185.18.14
2. /usr/lib/xorg/mo
If anyone can verify with sarvatt's git snapshot that DRI now works
properly on i865, we could drop that patch. (I *think* it should work
properly now, so may drop it anyway, but it would be better if we could
get people to test and positively confirm first.)
