1. Boot with 2.6.28-14
2. Run one time session with low graphics
3. Make sure you are connected to the internet
4. Open Terminal and type

Bryce, thanks for the PPA. I can try to put it on however Alpha 3 i845 doesn't
boot with intel driver 2.8.0 yet so I can't measure performance. Unless the
PPA fixes the boot problem about all I know how to do for measurements is to
install an Alpha 2 and put the PPA on that.

Today I had time. I've fixed all problems with old versions of packages
and installed the new fglrx driver. The problem is not solved, my system
still stop responding after Switch user.

I reported the bug to nvnews with all the logs included in this report,
nvidia-bug-report.log included.
Here I'm attaching older Xorg.0.log.old, from ubuntu approved 180.44 version.
Since the 185 drivers didn't help, will revert back to 180.44.

Jordi, I have made a PPA and built a package with the upstream patch
there. This is the first time I build and publish using a PPA, so I'm
not 100 % sure I did it correctly, but at least on the third attempt I
didn't get any error messages, and on the fourth I'm pretty sure I got
the patch in
