I'm having the exact same problem as described by pureblood. Also using HD3650
AGP.
It's not Kubuntu Jaunty specific as I experienced it on Ubuntu 9.04 Amd64 fresh

I have exactly the same problem (maximise/minimise really slow) I can
add the problem is also present when I use yakuake. It take about 1 to 3
seconds between the moment I press the F12 key (to launch yakuake) and
the moment it appears.

I tried to update nvidia driver to 185.18 with ppa and it worked, Xorg
doesn't crash anymore.
I noticed at boot that DKMS compiled the new kernel module and it
reminded me that when I first booted on 2.6.28-14 with 180.44 driver,
DKMS didn't recompiled the kernel module ; could this issue be relat
The latest daily build isnt available atm, but I tried upgrading to the latest
xorg etc. and the problem persists, suggesting that the problem is more with
xorg than the live cd (i.e the live cd contains the xorg, which is the problem)
Reverted back to xorg from jaunty and everything is OK.
