Xorg keeps crashing for me. Almost whenever I boot up, I end up with
black screen with message saying something about MInimal graphics mode
with further options.
Selecting running in minimal graphics mode sometimes (30-50%) helps

Unfortunately, using KMS makes the system even more unstable for me with
freezes. When I switch the resolution inside the X-server and KMS is
enabled the screen gets corrupted. I also experience crashes with KMS so
I disabled it again.

I have a similar problem, but in my case it's the compose option which is
ignored, in gdm, and in XFce4 and LXDE after (two different installations, same
behavior).
I fix easily the problem by calling setxkbmap -option compose:menu but it's a
pain in the bottom.

I found that, when Fusion-icon-Compiz options-Indirect Rendering checkbox
is on, 3D effects work.
compiz can disable the direct rendering by the checkbox.

/etc/modprobe.d/psmouse.modprobe and the synaptics driver is now being

Jerry, since ubuntu-bug needs firefox to report the bug, it does not
work very well when X isn't working. However, you may report the bug and
then run `apport-collect bug #` in order to upload the apport
information (it needs networking to function, but not X). It will upload
the same information
