Public bug reported:
Binary package hint: xorg
After I installed the nvidia drivers, Xorg used 1600x1200 at the next
reboot -- which was too high for my monitor.
I'm not sure what package to blame here. Should it automatically detect
what resolutions my monitor support?
Also, why does it use

[R350] Transient screen tearing/corruption/waviness in lucid when using KMS

@ledzepjes: I really can't reproduce the problem with the latest fglrx
in -updates and upgrading from a fresh Karmic with both proprietary
drivers and Ubuntu package installed. Could you please file another
report with the command ubuntu-bug fglrx and attach the files in
/var/log/dist-upgrade/
Though I made a clean reinstall of Ubuntu because of the experimental
state of xorg-edgers' PPA packages, I'll retest and see again what is
the situation now.
I'm going to update the packages from:
1. 2.6.35-rc3 - http://kernel.ubuntu.com/~kernel-
ppa/mainline/v2.6.35-rc3-maverick/linux-
Is that on lucid? I think that you still need to do as suggested in
comment 6.
