I have the same issue with a MacBook 13" (synaptics touchpad) running

Sorry, nothing has changed. I think we'd need someone with more experience
with weighting touchpad sensor values. The current algorithm just isn't
working right. Either this is only a very specific problem to only a few
hardware configurations OR I'm just so used to smooth apple trackpad in OS X
I have the same problem on Intel graphics (855 if I'm reading this
correctly).
i915.modeset=1 makes the system boot, but trying to play any video in
Totem or VLC will crash the X server immediately.

I just installed Lucid on my macbook 4,1 and have this issue with 2
finger scrolling. To annoying to use it with this bug, a real shame
since everything else works as expected.
Is there any status updates on a fix. I am willing to test things if
needed.

help it because that would mean a relative movement of 0 but there are

and the new one should be the default choice. (You can run "uname -r" to

I patched kdm.conf with a sleep before any other commands will be
executed. For debugging kdm.conf wites 2 messages into syslog: "start
kdm and sleep" and "resume kdm after sleep". Maybe you need to extend
the sleep time, if your graphic card takes more time to load the nvidia

framebuffer /dev/fb0 device with the vesa driver (vga16fb) before it

I have Geforce 7300 on Ubuntu 10.04 and this bug affects me. Firefox and
Kmail (with small fonts) are the worst. But it affects some ubuntu
dialog boxes too. I's and l's are the worst, but c r and rm characters
can be unreadable at times. It seems to be a random effect though. See
attached examples
Tomas, the question in comment #59 was meant for the original reporter
of the bug, takashi torigoe (sorry for not specifying that). These kind
of bugs may look exactly the same but have totally different underlying
causes, so your freeze may be an unrelated bug.

here: http://kernel.ubuntu.com/~kernel-
ppa/mainline/v2.6.35-rc5-maverick/ You only need to install the linux-
image-2.6.35-020635rc5-generic_2.6.35-020635rc5_i386.deb, and you will
keep the old kernel.
