Running Lucid on 2 different Latitude D600. The problem exists on both:

Just responding to myself here:
I found an acceptable workaround. I downloaded and installed the
catalyst driver from ati's web site. The installer script for this
driver puts the fglrx_dri.so into the /usr/lib32/dri/ as well as in the
/usr/lib/dri. Now everything works again.

After installing 9.04 the system has started to freeze. No issue with

The screen suddely gets scrabbled and the system stops responding (to anything).
Hard reset is the only way to regain control by restarting the system.

This is not relateted to xserver-xorg-video-intel, because I don't even
have an Intel GFX-Card. I'm using an AMD X600. By the way: the Issue
goes away for a while when using nautilus -q.

Sorry but I'm a bit frustrated. Since Lucid I'm experiencing 100% cpu usage.
Can't normally work on my system. Before Lucid it was OK. So apparently it's

the bamboos are currently only supported in the linuxwacom tarballs. you
need to get that and build the kernel module from there, then
modprobe/insmod it into the kernel. AFAIK, the changes never got
upstreamed into the kernel proper.

Is it possible that this is a duplicate of #550625. Do you have an Alps
touchpad that is detected as a PS2 or Macintosh mouse? There appears to
be no fix for that issue yet, but many folks are affected and there is
work ongoing to come up with a fix.

I have exactly the same problem with my ATI Radeon 9000 (rv250) in Ubuntu 10.04
(default configuration).

You can try this xorg.conf.
Simply backup the one at /etc/X11/xorg.conf and copy it there. If it
works then post a new bug asking for a hal rule being added to solve
this on your card.
