version. Furthermore you don't have the matching kernel headers
installed. Catalyst 10.10 should work if you install the matching

not help on Dell Studio 1557 10.10/x64.
Last version of Ubuntu that worked was 9.04 than it got broken in 9.10, fixed
at the end of release cycle but the patch din't make it to 10.04

JMason's solution fixed the issue for me too.
On a side note, after being forced to use TwinView (two monitors instead
of 3) due to this bug, I noticed that Xinerama is noticeably slower in
responsiveness. Especially when switching virtual desktops, which I have
6 in total across 3 monitors.

I used 10.10 RC for week or so, without any problem. The problem appeared only
after upgrade to 10.10 final version, so I suppose it could be an upgrade

I run apport-collect 664691 as you request; moreover I add here to file
log from Xorg.
1th TEST:
- I changed manually in Xinerama=on saved Xorg.conf
- I kiiled Xorg, and then GDM logon GUI Comes up; I logged in at the first try
to use through main menu any appplicaton (amdcccle) GUI

I'm trying to get touch work on dell inspiron one, I followed your
instructions and everything goes fine until
sudo insmod /lib/modules/$(uname -r)/updates/dkms
which gives me the error insmod: can't read
'/lib/modules/2.6.35-22-generic/updates/dkms/': Is a directory
so I guess

Fresh install, within the hour it froze. Not an upgrade issue.
Using this fresh install and will install xorg crack-pushers. For the
regular install on the same computer I will turn compiz off and use
metacity just to be sure.
