installed post-installation
I have a new Dell L401X with GeForce GT 420M with the same issue.
After Installing the NVidia-propietary drivers using the nvidia-installer
(NVIDIA-Linux-x86-260.19.21.run) the only way to having a nonblank screen is by
using an external monitor through the HDMI port.

New Apple iMac (Core i5) fails to display
I have an HP dm1z with an ALPS trackpad that supports multitouch. Running
Maverick Meerkat 64bits.
I tried the synaptics-dkms package from post #116, but nothing happened.
xinput -list produces PS/2 Generic Mouse for the mouse.
synclient -l produces: Couldn't find synaptics properties. No
Same problem (EQ overflowing. The server is probably stuck in an
infinite loop) with nouveau on nVidia GT216 [Quadro FX 880M] using
Ubuntu Maverick 10.10. Does anyone know whether there's a workaround to
this issue? When the freeze occurs my only course of action is to AC
cycle my laptop. I'm not
