Alpha 2 is almost upon us fglrx users.Xserver 1.1 is also here which
will break X .
My question is, how will this bug be fixed at this stage when fglrx will
break anyways with the new X stack.Or will you guys hold out till a new
fglrx is out ?Or it is patched ?

I can confirm this trouble. It happen since the 31/01 to me.
I tried the package from stock repository and xorg-edgers PPA but I've got the
same trouble.
It seams to happen quicker when launching virt-manager and firefox and
reducing/restoring these windows.
I attach the backtrace of the latest
Updated and installed Nvidia driver, boot gets to 'checking battery
state' and then hangs.

You probably need to remove your existing /etc/X11/Xorg.conf, since I

That code works for me too except that the id is not always the same:
sometimes it's 11 and sometimes it's 10. So I have to check each time
with xinput list and then pass the xinput command.
I tried creating a partial xorg.conf with only the section for the touchpad but
it doesn't seem to work.

well with me i cant use nouveau's latest update because of the graphical
issues that wont fix up when changing resolution anymoreand on the

Right, I have exactly the same behavior, so I can confirm this bug with Compiz.
I have tried the both ways under Ubuntu 10.04LTS up to date and this bug only
occurs with compiz activated ( no problem with metacity, in this case the xterm
window is successfully iconified).

From what I'm experiencing, the trackpoint (and associated mouse buttons
above the touchpad) is usually what goes first and I'm limited to the
trackpad and keyboard. After a few more suspend/resume cycles I'll lose
the trackpad, and in some cases, even the keyboard stops responding
entirely.

Aside from the apport popup with the error message, did you notice any
other kernel or X misbehaviors/lockups associated with this?
Might be this is just a false positive, like #711275 and others that
