I have an i865, when I try to switch between users, the system appears
to freeze -- if I switch from the session indicator applet, I just get a
black screen, if from the screensaver unlock window, that window stays

I solved it actually : during the last xorg-common package update a lot of
unity and compiz packages were remove/reinstalled by apt.
I reinstalled packages unity and gnome-compiz, unity is working properly
again.

Hi !
I'm still experiencing that issue with an Up to date Ubuntu system.
Got a very long freezer yesterdday, 10mn and the hard drive was still actively
running and i just could do anything.
Any news about that problem ? Is it really reproduced by anybody else ?

I think this issue is heavy, you cannot afford your OS crashing and
losing your data and valuable time two or three times each day
anyway
I found the problem fires with a heavy memory load, not a heavy CPU
load, i tested the netbook with 2GB instead the default 1GB and the
problem fired just

Bitten. Wasted my weekend on it.
I've been running various kernels nvidia drivers for a long time, even
switching hardware along the way, without any issue whatsoever and out
of the blue i get that oops. The funniest part is i cannot get rid of
it: i've tried every available kernels (from 2.6.32
Lucid has a working XRender, so something must've happened during the
Maverick dev cycle.
