I'm running a AMD Radeon HD 5770 with 3 screens attached to it on Ubuntu
11.10. When I go into the catalyst control center and adjust the monitor
over scan settings it crashes when I hit apply. The settings do get
applied though. Then when I want to change the refresh

I have an ubuntu 11.04 and upgraded the kernel to 3.0.
Result: blank screen.
Solution: start the kernel without X (in grub: 'set gfxpayload=text'),
and run ./NVIDIA-Linux-x86-275.28.run
--kernel-source-path=/usr/src/linux-2.6.
This fixes the problem, and ubuntu 11.04 is running fine now
At first, I thought the only recourse was to power off the machine and
restart. However, further testing has proven I am able to use CTL-ALT-
DEL to initiate logoff, then the mouse works fine when I log back in.

problem. I applied your patch out of curiosity and now my Alps touchpad is
recognised correctly and works.
Bug 804109 is similar in that the trackpad fails to work properly. A

* Search for: /org/gnome/settings-daemon/peripherals/touchpad/
* Check touchpad-enabled

ok, so I reinstalled Ubuntu 10.04.1 64bit (added the pre-released updates
source) and did the all the normal updates, including the 2.6.32-34-generic
kernel upgrade. then I installed the recommended hardware drivers from the

After my update today the mouse pointer clicks 1 to the right of its displayed
position on my left display.
Currently center and right displays are 1920x1080 and the left display is
1280x1024
This worked 1 week ago.
Ubuntu 11.04 has been a disaster for multiple display.

Left shift keye sometimes randomly seems to stuck. Pressing it immediately
turns things back to normal.
