Happens only when desktop effects are ON.

This happened twice in quick succession.
I am using Ubuntu 11.10 on an HP Probook 6560b notebook.
FIrst time I logged in, the desktop appeared. I started gnome-ppp for an

A strange phenomenon has occured while beta testing Unity 3D on Precise.
The GNOME 2.(n) bottom bar has showed up out of nowhere and has enabled
a previously set function in Compiz (Wallpaper(cycle)). I chose xorg as
the possible culprit but it may be a Unity/Compiz problem. I
Cant says that nvidia cant build with actual kernel as the report title
says, but my issues are so close:
