I also had a split screen in my Dell Inspiron 8000 when installed Ubuntu
11.10 Oneiric. After a lot of net reading and experimentation, I found
the following simple solution. I created a new xorg.conf file in the
directory /etc/X11. The file contains only the following lines
Section Device
@rubiojr, I came back from the long CNY holiday and tried to follow up
this bug. But unfortunately, I failed to reproduce that with either
stock 12.04 or upgrading from stock 11.10 to 12.04.
Could you please try to install a fresh Ubuntu from livecd and reproduce
this issue at your side and
I wish I could but all I have is this MBA which is my production laptop
right now, so reinstalling is not an option...
I may give it a shot in a few weeks though.

Still the same problem. I tried out ubuntu 11.10 32-Bit and 64-Bit a few days
ago and nothing changed: the system crashes regulary. So I am using Xubuntu
11.10 again, which had not a single crash since I installed it before two month.

aren't used and font sizes are mis-configured. I know this has part to
do with the video driver, xorg, gdk, and unity. I have included 2

I started having this problem in the last week or two. I've tried three
different mice, they all have the same problem. There NEEDS to be a
bouncy keys equivalent in the mouse handling parts. Is anyone paying
