package xdiagnose 2.7 failed to install/upgrade: subprocess installed
post-installation script returned error exit status 1
Public bug reported:
Xorg failed to start Nouveau. Instead of seeing my desktop or LightDM I
had to see the Xorg failsafe mode. Sadly even the option start with a
lower resolution did not work. This was the second time I experienced
this bug. I rebooted my system and then it was usable again.

I was implementing the work around given at
https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/mesa/+bug/833841.
The fix was to remove nvidia-current, run updates and install nvidia-
current again.
Instead of doing it from the command line, I did it in synaptic package
manager. I

I'm sorry to bother you, but I was seeing that the newest NVIDIA driver
seems to be working for many people who are having the log out issue. I
have a problem in that I can't figure out how to manually install the
NVIDIA driver now that I have it downloaded.
Is there a resource you could point
