after starting a wireframe shows up, and then a high I/O-load occurs, memory is
consumed up to 90%, X-Windows gets completely unusable (freezes), but changing
to console (ctrl-alt-f1) is possible - 20-40s after pressing the keys - and
instantly I/O-load
Not sure if this information is useful, but I used to encounter this bug
at least per day with Ubuntu 12.04 on a Lenovo Thinkpad x200. After
installing Xubuntu 12.04 (fresh install, not via the xubuntu-desktop
package), I have yet to encounter this bug after almost a month of use.

Switched to v3.6-rc6-quantal and have no suspend issues with Samsun
I started a reverse bisect between v3.5 and v3.6-rc1. The first kernel has
been built up to commit:
614a6d4341b3760ca98a1c2c09141b71db5d1e90
This kernel is available from:

I had similar issues - currently on kernel 3.4.0-030400-generic (got
at http://kernel.ubuntu.com/~kernel-ppa/mainline/) and no freeze since
then (a few days).
The only reason I did not use a higher kernel is because of the higher
kernel numbers do not work with the current vmware player which I ne
I had that problem with Ubuntu 12.04 (Dell latitude e6330, amd64), and there
were about 4 freezes per hour sometimes. For that reason I removed Ubuntu and
installed Debian. There were no freezes with kernel 2.4, but I updated kernel
to version 3.2.0-3-amd64 today and got complete freeze again.
I noticed this problem using Eclipse. I got a workaround - if I switch
to XRender compositing instead of OpenGL, the text stays readable all
the time. Tested with KDE

with Nvidia. But this had been an Oneiric install which was upgraded. I did no

I've tested 3.5 final and 3.6rc1. It is as you predicted, the bug exists
on 3.5 final, but is fixed in 3.6rc1.

kernel after having been in a not-working one, touch/pen won't initially
