Same issue on eeepc 1025c with gma3600. Blacklisting gma500_glx allows X
to load. Otherwise system just hangs trying to start X.

Please be advised that while placing a bug report at ati.cchtml.com is
one more way to increase your chances of this being fixed as soon as
possible, it's not maximizing it. This is how as per AMD

After upgrade to quantal, which I believe caused an upgrade in mesa from
8.x to 9.0, I can no longer use googleearth. Previously, it worked
pretty well using the mesa DRI driver. The only problems were that
borders sometimes showed through the earth from over the horizon,
it also affects me: Nvidia GT 640
It appears, when I start thunderbird. But it doesn't happen, when
booting from LiveDVD.

Something similar happens to me as well on bare metal. I'm using fglrx-
legacy PPA, which could be part of the issue, but the bug I'm getting
looks very similar to that.
