I'm coming back (a long time later...) and still same kind of problem.
I tried to upgrade to the 13.10, and i got very similar problem.
After installation, i get a low resolution (but the desktop has a higher
esoltuion, so windows may "go out" of the screen)
Mouse doesn't work, network does
(in 12.04, not 11.04 sorry)

The patch I posted previously had a bug in xf86UnrealizeCursor(). I had
accidentally used dixLookupScreenPrivate(), when I should have used
dixLookupPrivate(). The attached patch is an update with the fix.

This is on top of the already accepted patch. Alternative would be just
remove all references to DefaultGcc2AArch64Opt, since there is nothing
unique about aarch64 optimization options.
