I was running different Nvidia graphic cards with different proprietary
Nvidia drivers (see my previous post).
Changed the Nvidia graphic card to an old HD 5670 Radeon AMD and loaded
the catalyst drivers. *Until now no more system hangups has appeared.*
Will try e newer AMD R9 290 card later
Maybe a workaround :
# echo blacklist dell_laptop /etc/modprobe.d/blacklist.conf
It seems that dell_laptop is conflicting with something.

The touchpad on my new XPS 13 Developer edition is detected as
DLL060A:00 06CB:2734 when I installed Ubuntu 13.10. The touchpad
previously worked with the default the Ubuntu 12.04 install and further
live boots of 12.04 show the touchpad still working.

Bug is reproducable on current ubuntu development release!
It is also present on Kubuntu 13.10, which is what I work with at the moment.
I think this bug should get some priority, since touchscreens are pretty
common these days. The current state just makes the touchscreen of my
laptop useless,

suspend succeeds on a GTX470 with 2 monitors but the resume hangs at a black
screen.
I have to turn off the machine an boot again.
The suspend and resume works with nvidia binary drivers.
The suspend also works with debian wheezy 7.3 with nouveau driver

My display settings specify that the screen should be turned off after
one hour (in Brightness Lock). When I return to the machine after
the screen has been turned off and press keys on the keyboard, the
screen won't come back on. I have tried moving the mouse, clicking the
asgard2, the fact HDMI doesn't work at all in Precise through Saucy
would be a downstream (Ubuntu) only issue.
However, the issue of low FPS and graphics artifacts in Trusty is an
upstream one. Could you please report this problem through the

I've uninstalled AMD's propriety drivers. I'm using the i915 intel
driver now. This is very frustrating, I thought Linux would be much more
stable and robust !
You can use xdiagnose to collect your logs and open an xorg bug like I
did. I'm not sure if the developers will still care to fix this
