i was succesfully using that driver with an old 8500gt nvidia card plugged
within vga.
Upgrading to a new gtx 750 card plugged within hdmi 1.3, nouveau cant be used
because the bios process is stopped at:

Thank you Daniel for the suggestion but it actually was a problem with
finding the proper xrandr modeline for the Samsung p2350 monitor. I used
the Windows program Powerstrip to find it, which is
"1920x1080" 148,454 1920 2008 2052 2200 1080 1084 1089 1125 -hsync
-vsync

I was trying the steps in update #13 and that did not repro,
trying #5 caused it to crash once, then after several tries it
crashed again for me. Okay sorry for the noise, it looks like

randomly moving around the screen in a spastic kind of way and then
starts clicking stuff.

I see the same issue after upgrading (yes, just recently, I'm a slacker)
to 13.10 from 13.04, on evince and nautilus. I too am running XFCE.
(Specifically 4.10)
Hovering over those applications and using the scroll wheel still raises
them, just as if I'd clicked on them, but does not scroll them.

The left mouse button stopped working a few days ago - was working fine
before then. Tried two different mice. Left mouse button doesn't work
on either. Changed mouse settings (Settings -> Mouse and Touchpad) to
left-handed mouse. Button functionality was swapped, but left
Confirmed - no change in the problem after updating to the latest BIOS -
resolution switches still occur.

Actually, neither starting syndaemon via rc.local nor enabling SHMconfig
in xorg.conf helped. The only way to disable touchpad while typing was
to start syndaemon from a graphic session as a user. The button to
disable touchpad does not work and the "disable touchpad while typing"
