X fails to detect certain video cards on non-seat0 seats
top shows Xorg using around 100% cpu and xfsettingsd using around 10%
during freeze. I stopped xfsettingsd using quit program in all
settings/session and startup/session and saved the session for next
startup. Once xfsettingsd had stopped freezes ceased but now only have
basic window theme, icons
to prevent xfsettingsd starting again in next session also removed
/etc/xdg/autostart/xfsettings.desktop and commented out the line in
/etc/xdg/xfce4/xinitrc : xfsettingsd

the 3.15 kernel or later and Mesa 10.3-devel. For now, you will also

I found out, that in my case its a problem with suspend-hybrid mode. I
had a configuration that used kernel suspend-hybrid, if the suspend
button was pressed. Suspend to RAM and Suspend to Disk seem to work,
only suspend-hybrid leads to a blank screen after resume.

I works, but, when I open Gnome System Monitor, I see that my first Core

Writing the console in the lightdm.conf is no real fix.
Why is it not possible to switch keyboard layouts according to users

Place the external monitor on the left side and laptop monitor on the right.
This way the laptop monitor with invalid width won't miss align the picture
on the external monitor.

GT610 DVI and VGA ports. Dual display works (configured thru xorg.conf). I'm
using nvidia 331.38 from nvidia-331-updates driver. Randomly, an unknown

I have some new information. Apparently, I tried a different external
monitor with the displayport and the same 2560x1600 resolution and the
laptop worked just fine. I can run xrandr or unity-control-center while
the monitor is connected and there are no issues.
The monitor that does not work
Here it is.
As you can see in details, none of the process takes more than 1.9% but
the 1rst core line is red and full.

I have same issue. I tried with several kernel parameters (nomodeset or
acpi=force, boot=...) but nothing helps. Ubuntu boots irregularly. After
switching off the Hardware for more than 30 minutes the first boot seems to be
fine.
A BIOS Update to F.06 doesn't change anything for me.
