I also have this hardware (Samsung XE700T1C-X01AU), and am determined to
do whatever I can to get this device 100% supported by GNU/Linux and
Android. My distribution of choice is Debian, but will definitely
install Ubuntu if it will help get this issue resolved.

Ok so I have collected the information that I was asked, which is
completely irrelevant to the bug as anyone reading the bug description
would notice, and also completely meaningless as I am not (nor can I
ever be anymore) on any of the computers where I observed the issue (but
again, that's
I have an ASUS Eee PC 1101HA.
Aside from the Atom Z520 processor it uses a GMA500 embedded graphics card
which is part of the SCH US15W chipset, also known as Poulsbo.
The interesting thing is: Ubuntu 12.04.4 LTS works out of the box and is
reasonably fast.
Now I installed Ubuntu 14.04 LTS and
I had the same issue. Ville's patch solved the problem. Thanks a lot

IMHO the flickering is caused by using 2 graphic cards for the unity
desktop and not by connecting a 3rd Monitor. (seems to be consistant
with previous posts )
I'm able to turn the flickering on / off by enabling / disabling my
4th monitor which is connected to my second Radeon HD 6450
