This is the second occurrence of a similar problem. The first time, I
had just did a hardware upgrade to accomodate future security updates(?)
My second monitor is no longer working.
I would speculate that the fix in #1254424 applies here. I note that
this is not a duplicate of that, as that was on 14.04 and this is on
12.04.
