Yes, I have version 4. Is it possible that when I installed version 6 it
created that file and that it's still there? I'm using versions 4 and 5
on this partition since the week in which I reported this bug. When I

I have had this problem on the same hardware (Dell Inspiron 3847).
Upgrading the kernel to 3.16.2 (using the "mainline" packages) seems to have
solved it.

Taihsiang has shown that, thanks to the new ubuntu-drivers-common, it is
now possible to use the nvidia driver in an Optimus system even when
bbswitch is not available. This was the point of the SRU.
