this software better. This particular crash has already been reported
and is a duplicate of bug #1353926, so is being marked as such.
Taihsiang has shown that, thanks to the new ubuntu-drivers-common, it is
now possible to use the nvidia driver in an Optimus system even when
bbswitch is not available. This was the point of the SRU.

I have had this problem on the same hardware (Dell Inspiron 3847).
Upgrading the kernel to 3.16.2 (using the mainline packages) seems to have
solved it.
