/usr/lib/xorg/modules/drivers is missing most of its drivers due to the
fact that most, if not all, of the xserver-xorg-video-* packages are
missing. My guess is that this is the problem: they're not in the

Hi Christopher,
I have a desktop with a nvidia gtx 780ti and i don't have any problem with
nvidia proprietary drivers, no NVIDIA HAS FALLEN.
With my gtx 580m i have a lot of problem, but with nouveau drivers there is
no problem.
With gtx 580m, i tested with lastest kernel and nvidia drivers.

If I switch to another VT and run xinit -- :1 I have a mouse on that
X server but still no on the original one.
Also since xinit only starts a single xterm and when I type in that
xterm the mouse pointer gets invisible until I move the

Ubuntu 14.04 LTS with xserver-xorg-lts-utopic and linux-generic-lts-
utopic installed to even make touchpad work. The system can run for days
without any problems, but sooner or later a spontaneous segfault will
happen and return to the login screen.

This also happens to me on a laptop with 15.04 installed on it. A quick
test seems to indicate that it happens when I select the NVIDIA card
from the nvidia-settings control panel. When I choose to use Intel
integrated graphics, the mouse cursor works as expected.
