I'm working on a Panasonic Toughbook CF-C1 that also has this issue,
though I can only rotate the display manually on this model (not sure by
other thinkpad comments if it is implying an automatic screen rotation,
perhaps by gyroscope, so I wanted to be sure to make the distinction

After logging in, no display. If the session is left inactive until display is
put to sleep, then awakining it thru keyboard or mouse brings back a visible
display. (default is 5 min. of inactivity
A simple startup script via startup applications
problem has reoccurred. I was watching a video on vimeo, in full screen,
using chrome 45. When I exited the video, I could no longer use the left
click on my mouse. I believe previous times may also have coincided with
a full screen video app. (kodi for example), but I cant be certain.

I've put a patched version of the Intel driver in ppa:robert-ancell/xorg
[1]. I think the change might cause a DPMS regression as described in
the upstream bug so it probably should get some more testing before
uploading.

mouse from the top of them.
After installing xorg-edgers/ppa and applying the newest nvidia drivers with
intel
