I was afflicted by a similar rolling-ttm_validate hang, see bug#1434396 comment#25 Solution in my case was 'apt-get install pam-kwallet5' If this helps here too, then it might be worth looking at how events from multiple displays are handled, when they're actually from a common all-displays

Same on Assus K555L with KDE, the problem stooped or at least occurs rarely when ever you stop the turn of touch pad functionality on key enter form synaptic touch pad set up in System Settings->Input Device->Touchpad->l. Enable/Disable touch. pad. And remove Disable touch pad when typing .

Thank you Axel for pointing to the intel drivers. I installed the latest drivers and enabled SNA again. It looks as if it takes longer to crash now, but eventually it does. Prior to the update it was easy for me the reproduce a crash with LibreOffice Calc. That requires a bit more effort now. I
