This is expected behavior though when a nested server has its host
server die (so I'd say this as described doesnt really describe a
"bug")... The bug that this one was made a duplicate of seems to be the
root cause.

PS: I want to check next in Trusty if the newer kernel 3.13.0-77 is less
friendly than the former one, 3.13.0-76 in this situation, with that one
hardware (the town on which I installed yesterday : I'll have it back to
run tests on it). So I'll report the full specs to help debug this
issue.

I installed Ubuntu Trusty on an old tower yesterday, which has an
integrated nvidia Geforce 7* so this is "nouveau" running on that
machine, and after a while, when clicking on some menu the mouse
suddenly freezes, and there is this strange look on the screen, looking
a lot like what Elfy

One thing to add (I'm shocked nobody mentioned yet): edits in anything
in /usr/... will be lost next time the respective package is updated.
So, even on single-user machines, a per-user (or at least /etc) option
is *needed*.

Since I updated the linux kernel to version 4.5 RC3, I cannot reproduce
the error. So it seems solved with kernel 4.5 RC3.

I have a toshiba laptop M840, which has a AMD graphic card Radeon HD
7670m (Intel GPU is disable by default). With opensource driver, my CPU
's temperature is always above 90 celsius. When i try with proprietary
driver, the temperature is about 80 celsius but is still too

kernel 4.5-rc2 to 4.5-rc3 in order to identify the last bad commit,
followed immediately by the first good one. Once this good commit has
