and Xvnc. It had been working fine until recently when an update seemed
to have broken xdm support for xdmcp. Note that xdm itself does not
appear to have been updated in years. xdm is especially needed

HP Envy 34c resolution maxes out at 1920x1200
To manage
ok,
after further googling it turned out these up-right and bottom-right top
shortcuts for middle and right button are default in Ubuntu (and not specific
of our trackpad).
So the new driver is working as expected.
For those finding very annoying the accidental middle button click when
tapping
I'm on the 4.9 kernel today with the following .xprofile. Much less
flicker but it still comes up every once in a while.
