In Kubuntu 17.04. my touchpad (Lenovo ideapad 500S-13ISK) is recognized
as "AlpsPS/2 ALPS GlidePoint".
All clicks are recognized. Two finger scrolling is working, but the mouse
pointer is only moving vertically not horizontally.

I'v just installed Ubuntu Mate 17.04 and this patch doesn't appear to work
anymore - suspect it's because Xorg has moved from evdev to libinput for
handling the issue of input.
Really would like to bring the old behavior back. If anyone knows of a solution
I'd be grateful if you point me at it.
I'm not sure why you would report your issue against xorg but
