xorg-server-hwe-16.04 (2:1.19.3-1ubuntu1~16.04.1) is working fine here (along with other related or required -proposed packages listed here. Additionally with a modification to /etc/modprobe.d/nvidia-graphics-drivers.conf to enable KMS PRIME Synchronization is working on my hybrid (optimus)
