I have had quite some issues with the touchpad on my 2013 DELL XPS 13
since installing 18.04. It worked fine on previous versions.
Typical observations:
- lag
- cursor movements being interrupted
- more lag
- single/double tap not being detected consistently

Thank you for taking the time to report this crash and helping to make
this software better. This particular crash has already been reported
and is a duplicate of bug #1731911, so is being marked as such.
I also experienced this problem, and upgrading xserver-xorg-core and
xserver-common fixed it.
So, it is rather a mesa/xorg-server incompatibilty?

Like David, I downgraded the mesa packages in order for the problem to
disapear. The package system needed the old libllvm library
(unfortunately, I purged it with "sudo apt autoremove" before) so my
command line for this downgrade/fix was
sudo dpkg -i \
libllvm5.0_5.0-3~16.04.1_amd64.deb \
Same here, fresh installation of Ubuntu, Samsung npv300.
