As a temporary workaround: removing the proprietary nvidia drivers
(nvidia-driver-390) fixed the issue for me.

xvfb fails to start, missing dependencies on xauth
(Another workaround for this bug would be to use the proprietary driver
for Nvidia instead of nouveau. I am not planning to do this (yet?) )
