It looks like there are disconnection/reconnection problems with the USB
dongle for this mouse in your kernel log. So this might be a kernel bug
or it might be a hardware problem.
Please try:
* A different mouse
* A different kernel like https://kernel.ubuntu.com/~kernel-
ppa/mainline/v5.8.5
Please look in /var/crash and tell us if you have any crash files there.
Also next time the freeze happens, please then reboot and run:
journalctl -b-1 > prevboot.txt
and attach the resulting text file here.

Thanks. I think this is probably a compositor (Mutter) bug. Although as
soon as Nvidia driver 450 reaches official updates (it hasn't yet) I

Uploading additional grab with my camera showing the corruption on Gnome
Tweaks window where it looks as though a terminal window behind Firefox
(two windows back from this) is showing through.

I too was having this issue on a Dell XPS 15.
Tried all the nvidia versions available on the normal ubuntu repo's for
20.04 (except nouveau). Moving to the ppa and the 450 driver solved my
issue.

Please see attached. As you can see I have the Ubuntu Software tool to
the right, and I have Gnome Tweaks open to the left. You can also see
other apps that are showing normal functioning. Gnome Tweaks
particularly doesn't seem to show corrupted window decorations unless
Ubuntu Software is open.
