Installed Pop!_OS 20.04 on my new Alienware X17 R1. The touchpad is
detected and can be seen in the xinput as PS/2 Generic Mouse. I upgraded
the kernel to see if it would be detected as a touchpad but it still
does not. It doesn't work at all no matter what kernel is used.

Looks like the incarnation of "intel gdm" bug to me, where pressing Alt would
unfreeze everything.
But that time it's for NV and pressing Alt doesn't help at all.
The scenarios are the same though for me: any hard work done by JetBrains Idea
and it freezes for some time.
