After some patches to 14.10 the issue appears to have disappeared. At a guess I
would say a kernel update has resolved the issue.
I have since upgraded to 15.04 and it is working without issue.

I find using the touchpad on my laptop gets stuck on what appears to be another

The bast way to describe it is the pointer does not respond, unless you are
