After trying to no avail to fix this critical issue for 3 versions I had to abandon Ubuntu. I fresh installed the latest LMDE AND the problem disappeared. UBUNTU 11.10 can't even handle two screens gracefully much less three AX sent from mobile -- You received this bug notification because you

This is still present in 10.10 and 11.04. Has anyone found a solution? unfortunately post #29 is not a solution, not because is not trusted, but because no explanation is given on what was patched. Also the patched packages and NVIDIA drivers provided in post #29 used are getting outdated.

Workarrounds for the meantime: Dual monitors: Use twinview. There is no need to have xinerama enabled if you just have two monitors using twinview. Besides with twinview you get hardware accelerated graphics. Three monitors: Have two of them with twinview and one separate screen. All of them

Yes, all updates upto Oct 2 / 2010. Keep in mind this is only happening in Maverick Lucky Backup, KeepassX, SpeedCrunch, Pencil, Skype, Stellarium. They all crash either on launch or when you hover the mouse on top of them -- skype and other qt applications crashing x
