The only work around that I have found is to go back to your old kernel
that was installed.
In this case, it's usually this one:
3.19.0-15-generic

The offending packages are the following that cause that error:

Public bug reported:
The default kernel 3.19.0-26-generic in Lubuntu 64-bit AMD64 seems to
have trouble with the additional restricted drivers from AMD / ATI,
despite being listed as compatible. This doesn't happen to me in any
other Ubuntu distribution or fork, only Lubuntu.
