Strange, I ran sudo module-assistant -t auto-install drm-modules before..
Anyway, confirm, it works now.
Maybe, it's time to merge this PPA to karmic?

Public bug reported:
Binary package hint: xorg
After today updates (xorg system, dri, etc...) my gdm not start. I
reboot and in recovery mode remove /etc/X11/xorg.conf and re-run Xorg
-configure. The system detected radeonhd driver for my video system. As
this driver has no even dri support yet

Does radeon work if you turn off DRI or desktop effects?
I don't have enable effects, as radeon doesn't allow me to do this (even if it
was working).
I created xorg.conf via running Xorg -configure. By default there all options
comments (dri, etc).
Should I set DRI options to false with radeon
OK, I found that using true or false it's wrong. It should be 0 or 1.
So, using:
Option DRI 0 with radeon (by default it enable) driver fix this issue.
Option DRI 1 with radeonhd (by default it disable) driver make issue occur.
As conclusion, problem in DRI.
