I have a 8086:2a42 video card and successfully used the i915.powersave=0 option to stop the sync flashes. I installed Andy Whitcroft's kernel and removed the i915.powersave=0 option yesterday. Everything continue to work fine ; no sync flashes at all. @Peter : it seems that FBC means FrameBuffer
