I just started getting this problem after swapping an old nvidia GFX card with a Radeon 6850. Running Mint 17.2 (based on 'Trusty'), kernel 3.13.0-24-generic.
I found a stab-in-the-dark solution that works for me. In synaptic package manager, I replaced all the fglrx packages with the 'updates' versions, and also installed xserver-xorg-video-radeon-lts-trusty (Transitional package). (There's versions for other Ubuntu flavours.) Check in Driver Manager that the fglrx updates version is selected, and restart X. My Xorg mem is now sitting steady. Hope it helps someone. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu-X, which is subscribed to fglrx-installer in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1314787 Title: Memory leak To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/fglrx-installer/+bug/1314787/+subscriptions _______________________________________________ Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat Post to : ubuntu-x-swat@lists.launchpad.net Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp
