Status changed from Confirmed to Critical as it prevents the
installation.
This failed installation was the case also in 12.04 and 12.04.1 .

Xorg freeze when trying
Core i7 920, Gtx 580 - freeze and can't install
Change Gtx 580 to Gts 250 and Cd update install from 10.04 to 12.04 goes
through but with several error messages. After rebooting mouse pointer
is there - doesn't move - and disappears after a while.

After upgrading from 10.04 to 12.04 mouse pointer disappeared.
This might be a driver issue as well as related to graphics card because
install both from usb stick and cd froze completely with my gtx 580. I
changed that to gts 250 and install from cd went through. However during
the installation
