There have been several releases of the nVidia driver that have this issue for me. The only way to get it working in linux is to disable powermizer. It works perfectly fine with the latest Vista video driver. I have an nVidia GeForce 8400M GT btw. -- Please consider turning powermizer OFF

Have you tried the 190.xx drivers yourself? They don't fix the problem for me:) Btw, I've been using the workaround for over a week now, and it's great! Compiz doesn't stutter when I flip windows, the GPU doesn't get any hotter than normal (according to NVidia Settings)... -- Please consider
