Thank you for your follow-up and sorry for the delay in my response, the hard
drive crashed on the A21p so I have not been able to try the fix.
I will try the latest Ubuntu when I get around to reinstalling and will report
here if it still has the problem.

As described in issue 28898 Ubuntu is not properly recognising the A21p
LCD. See that issue for details, but I was asked in the comment thread
to open a new bug since that once is so old.
