Looks like that my PC is affected too. I can add that I noticed that
xorg process consumes a lot of CPU time even when my PC is completly
idle. Here is my hardware config:

Interesting is that when you restart X with Alt-Prt Sc-K and take a look
on a log again says that:
[ 2033.702] (II) Open ACPI successful (/var/run/acpid.socket)
But it is not successful when you boot from shutdown

Same problem.
My notes:
1) the touchpad is not working on boot with 50% probability. works always after
SHMConfig true added to xorg.conf
2) sometimes the keyboard AND the touchpad both do not work. With 5-10%
probability. SHMConfig true DO NOT HELP IN THIS CASE...
Could it be 2 different bugs?
Seems to be fixed. Judging from update history, should have been related
to some xserve changes, not NVidia drivers.

Good news - seems to be fixed on my PC after 3 sets of updates were installed
over a perfiod of few days (none required reboot, so I decided to reboot only
now).
Note that Nvidia drivers were not updated.
