I think the problem has come back again. I did a fresh install post beta 2 (April-07 daily build) on my production partition as my test partition had been running so well (see my comment 2013-03-16). Unfortunately the video diver was then broken again. Now running OK on proprietry AMD

f.y.i. I swapped the ATI Caicos [Radeon HD 6450] card for an Nvidea 8500 and all worked beautifully. = ATI ~ it's all your fault ;-) (but works just fine on 12.10 so no hardware issues I think) I hope it gets sorted 'cus on NVidea it all looks brilliant! thank you. -- You received this bug

Further to your email (22 Feb - I did reply at the time), I still cannot use even the latest (9.10) version as about 50% of boot-ups fail resulting in four(?) colour grainy graphics. Repeated hard resets/cold starts often don't fix it - then the next day maybe it boots fine. 8.4 LTS still
