More on this. I'm now with Fedora 13 (using a very Lucid-like system) and the behaviour was exactly as described in this bug. Booting with the 2.6.32 kernel provided by Fedora 12 makes my touchscreen work properly, but it gets detected as two devices instead of one. The problem is narrowed to a
