I don't have access to that hardware any longer, so I unfortunatly can't

After the upgrade to 14.04, Xorg crashes when using rdesktop and throws me back
to the login screen.
Crash happens a few seconds after logging in to the remote RDP system.

Creating a custom blacklist and updating the initrd solved the problem
(I did not yet identify one specific module, so this might be more
modules than necessary):

So it seems /etc/modprobe.d/nvidia-graphics-drivers.conf does not

I'm using the nvidia driver on lucid for a GT240. The driver installs
fine, but on reboot Xorg complains about an unusable configuration and
does not start:
