Hi,
attached the etl tracefile. I could not get the pdb files from the
Microsoft symbol server to view it in TraceView. I hope this helps.

Hi,
just an update, probably not related to the nvidia driver issue itself but
perhaps useful for people that stumble upon this page for a similar problem.
The startup hanging et ubuntu logo stopped without updating anything but
grub2 when i switched it to verbose mode.

Edit
I have the same problem
18.04.2 LTS, 4.15.0-46-generic #49
With something perhaps useful :
I have grub for multi-boot, and only this one ubuntu OS installed
-When the computer was on, with ubuntu or another system, a system restart
leads me to grub, that leads me to ubuntu, and it is stuck.
Public bug reported:
After few suspends or detach-/attachments of USB devices libinput starts

there is only one device attached.

Hello Tormod,
this is still a problem in Ubuntu 10.10 (just tested with Ubuntu User

OK, on Lucid, I just enabled the proposed updates in Synaptic. I
then selected to completely remove fglrx. Applied updates, which
removed it. I then selected to install it. It worked after installation
was complete and a re-boot.
This was my BRAND NEW System76 Serval Professional that I just
it either on Jaunty or Karmic and see if it
resolves this bug?

I tried Zero's solution of rolling back to the 173 version of the NVidia
Driver using the Hardware Drivers configurator. This fixed my problem.
The symptoms I was having as follows:
Configuration/Environment:
1. Compiz
2. Emeral Theme Decorator
3. Cube Rotation, Reflection, and
